ARTIST MENTORSHIP

Great Leap has been offering free artist mentorship program since 2005.

The Collaboratory uses a unique process developed by Great Leap to engage emerging artists, community members and professional artists in the creation of theatrical ensemble performances which incorporate personal stories of the participants.

Each six to ten week program trains up to 15 participants, culminating in a live performance presented in community settings such as cultural centers, schools, parks, churches/temples, etc.

Previous environmentally-themed shows created include: THE BLUE MARBLE, ORDER TO GO, MOTTAINAI, CYCLES OF CHANGE and THE AIR WE BREATHE.

These were performed at locations such as The Electric Lodge in Venice, Baldwin Hills Scenic Outlook in Culver City, Japanese American National Museum (JANM) in Little Tokyo and MacArthur Park as part of CicLAvia.
