FandangObon is back! In collaboration with Procession.LA, Great Leap is hosting the 9th annual arts, culture, ecofest Festival.

FandangObon is an evolving gathering of Japanese, Mexican, African and Sufi Muslim music and dance traditions to deepen relations and cross-cultural solidarity, and share strategies for place-keeping and environmental knowledge that will sustain our communities into the future in LA and beyond. Join Nobuko Miaymoto, Quetzal, Le Ballet Dembaya, the Mottainai Band, East LA Taiko, Cesar Castro, Xochi Flores, Sean Muira, and More!!!

10am: Procession with Nobuko, meet in front of the Japanese American National Museum and walk to the LA Park.

Join Nobuko Miyamoto, Quetzal, Le Ballet Dembaya, the Mottainai Band, East LA Taiko, Cesar Castro, Xochi Flores, Sean Muira, Nancy Sekizawa, Carla Vega, Chie Saito, Mariko Rooks, Juan Perez, Sandino Gonzalez Flores, Kamu & Ama Ayubi and Alison De La Cruz, with MCs traci kato kiriyama and Maya Jupiter.

And guest artists to bless the space with us include Tina Calderon, Lazaro Arvizu, Jr., Kamau Daood, Ruben Guevara, Anu Yadav, Gia Gunn, and more.

Procession is a multipart, community-oriented performance and festival that invites Los Angeles residents to explore the history of the LA river and the ground beneath their feet.
